/ë/ is inserted as a transition sound between /k/ and /m/, also between /h/ and /m/ of the MP sufix.
/ë/ of the root is rounded to /u/ in anticipation of /w/.
Two occurrences of /wa/ are realized as /o/; the first of these is laxed in what originated as a closed syllable.
/w/ is elided in final position after a vowel.
NOTE: The verb refers to small animals (e.g., chicken, rabbit) as food and is thus classed as animate. See also /këmuhòhoma/.
