Best viewed as a secondary formation: /ikahuti-w/ yielding /ikahatu/. This is taken as a new base to which is added the inanimate suffix and third person plural suffix. The suffixes /-w/ and /-ne/ normally occupy the same slot, creating a problem in the analysis otherwise. Note that /wa/ of the final suffix is realized as /o/, and /w/ is elided in final position after a vowel.
